As April begins, the cherry blossoms in Osaka’s Expo ’70 Commemorative Park are now in full bloom, drawing many visitors who come to enjoy hanami. Their breathtaking beauty seems to lift my spirits as we enter a new fiscal year. It has been exactly 30 years since I set my sights beyond engineering, pursued management studies at the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated. I feel truly grateful that even now, three decades later, I can continue to be involved in corporate management while enjoying the journey of life.

May 18, 2025: Yesterday, I stayed at Wakei Juku, a student dormitory in Tokyo, for the first time in a year, as there was a grand gathering of karate club alumni held at the Main Hall. This morning, I had breakfast in the cafeteria together with the current students. It reminded me once again of how strong and precious the bond is among those who shared the same meals and spent their youthful days together. Last year when I stayed here, breakfast in the cafeteria was bread, but this morning it was rice. Just like in the old days, rice and miso soup were available for unlimited refills. A memorial service for Master Oka, who passed away at the end of last year, was held on May 17th. Despite the rain, 70 alumni of Kenseikan Karate Club attended to honor his memory.
