November 2, 2026: Dinner with old friends from Taiwan in Umeda, Osaka

November 2, 2026: Old friends from Taiwan stopped by Osaka during their trip to Japan, so we got together for dinner near their hotel in Umeda. We had a wonderful time reminiscing about our days working together, catching up on each other’s lives, and talking about all kinds of things. The evening flew by, and it was truly a pleasure to spend such an enjoyable time together again.

June 6, 2026: Attended the annual general meeting of the Kansai Waseda IE Alumni Club, held in Osaka. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni living in the Kansai region and enjoy exchanging ideas, experiences, and a wide range of information.  It is truly inspiring to see alumni who are much more senior than I am continuing to play active roles and contribute with such energy and enthusiasm. The meeting was held, as usual, at the Chuo Denki Club, a historic building known for its Italian Renaissance-style architecture and as the place where Panasonic founder Konosuke Matsushita first presented his “Waterworks Philosophy” in 1932. Attached is a photo from June 1982, when I attended this alumni gathering for the first time as a new employee just after graduating from Waseda University and introduced myself to the members. It has been exactly 30 years since I set my sights beyond engineering, pursued management studies at the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated. March 15, 2026: Attended the final lecture of Professor Takahiro Ohno of the School of Creative Science and Engineering at Waseda University, who will retire this March. The lecture was held at the Ibuka Memorial Hall and was attended by approximately 450 people. It was a truly inspiring lecture filled with the spirit of Waseda. After the lecture, a grand celebration was held at the Rihga Royal Hotel Tokyo, attended by more than 300 alumni. Professor Ohno is a leading figure in the field of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering in Japan and a highly respected leader with great personal integrity. Since my student days, he has supported and guided me both professionally and personally.
